Outstanding Projects and Initiatives in Identity Management Honored At 2010 European Identity Awards Organized by KUPPINGER COLE

At the “European Identity Awards” event, which was organized within the context of the “European Information Security Conference”, SmartSoft – ŞEKERBANK - ORACLE  joint project was awarded in the category of  “Best Internal Project” for their innovative solution providing risk-based authentication and authorization using neural networks. 

European Identity Award for outstanding projects, innovations and advancements in the field of digital identity management was presented by the analyst group KUPPINGER COLE at a festive ceremony at the European Identity Conference 2010, the leading European venue for Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) in Munich.

Awards were given in six categories. Besides the award for “best innovation” in IAM or GRC, the categories include best program or initiative in internal projects, B2B, B2C, Cloud Computing and e-Government / e-Health.

The award for “Best Internal Project” was shared by three winners. One of the awards in the category of identity and information security management among internet customers went to SEKERBANK for a project involving OARM Fraud Detection Module based high-security internet infrastructure which was jointly developed by SmartSoft and ORACLE. In addition to their current high-security measures involving internet transactions, SEKERBANK has also established an internet security infrastructure that analyzes customer behaviors and takes all necessary actions upon encountering unusual behaviors. SmartSoft has implemented the integration of necessary modules into this internet infrastructure, which is a first of its kind in both Europe and Turkey, using a product called “ORACLE Adaptive Access Manager”.

Both the number of nominees for the European Identity Award 2010 and the quality of the project submitted far surpassed last year. This is seen by KUPPINGER COLE as a general sign of increasing maturity in IAM and GRC solutions.
